.

in our hearts we long for that
lingering memory
our minds try to grasp the reality
but nothing truer remains
that every day we are simply
saved by grace.

Listen
Carefully to the sound of the redeemed
For their voices do not roar
They ride softly
on the backs of waves
Beautiful they are
But the power
Is not in the volume
It is in the strength
behind the truth that they speak

Love is the wave I ride

Driven by the one who challenges pride,
 i find myself wondering how
I am to counteract this world
 that centers around fame as
being the goal of life.

To be the best and to make the most.
To have to most illustrious and shiny things.
To have closets so big that you could house
a whole family in them.  Is this the goal of life?
To acquire as much crap as possible so you
could leave all of it behind when you pass away?
After studying
Buddhism,
Hinduism,
 Islam,
 Christianity,
 and Judaism,
there is one thing that stands out.
  Despite their differences
they all hold true to the need to help those around you.
To love people as you love yourself.
How much better would the world be.

well, It would be if people loved themselves enough.
 I don't mean self-absorbed people who only
THINK about themselves.

I mean valuing yourself as a person
and having enough respect for yourself
that there is no need for
 self infliction,
or no need for depression,
no need for sexual relations for
 emotional satisfaction.

According to the World Health Organization

in 2000, there were 1 million deaths just to suicide.
and in the last 45 years suicide rates have increased by 60% worldwide
COMMON NOW!
not to mention that 90% of these are because of depression, substance abuse, etc.

I don't know about you, but that just breaks my heart. Now I am not saying that people can't have insecurities. God knows I've cried myself plenty a night because of mine but I still value my life and know that there is something I can do to to benefit others.  Instead of searching for fame or for fortune that ultimately leads to more stress than we need.  Why not live a life worth living. Why not make others lives better just as we wish others would make ours.
Live to Love, and Love to live.
